Sra. VanCorbach, usted organizó una actuación increíble y los estudiantes cantaron maravillosamente. Los padres les agradecen por venir y celebrar el arduo trabajo que puso su hijo en aprender las canciones y los movimientos que le enseñaron. Apreciamos ver toda la emoción y el orgullo que nuestros estudiantes sintieron al verlo entre la audiencia. ¡Esperamos con ansias la próxima actuación musical el próximo año!  La asistencia es muy importante todos los días del año escolar; pero aún más ahora que se acerca el final del año. Para fomentar una gran asistencia desde ahora hasta el resto del año, este año haremos nuestra Tienda Bullpup de manera diferente. Sortearemos 12 nombres (2 de cada nivel de grado) cada día para ir de "compras" a la tienda. Los estudiantes deben estar en la escuela (y no tarde) para poder comprar. Algunos de los premios en la tienda son: kits de arte, kits de ciencia, pelotas de baloncesto, balones de fútbol, patinetas, patinetas, paletas koosh, telescopios y mucho más. ¡También haremos un sorteo de libros más cerca del final del año para que los estudiantes tengan libros para el verano!  Si los padres tienen una solicitud de maestro para el año escolar 2024-2025, esas solicitudes deben entregarse a la Sra. Book o al Sr. Pratt antes del 30 de mayo de 2024. Incluya en su solicitud por qué este maestro se adapta mejor a su estudiante. Se aceptarán todas las solicitudes y haremos todo lo posible para cumplirlas, pero no hay garantías de que podamos cumplir con la solicitud realizada. Los estudiantes de 3.º a 5.º grado comenzarán a tomar sus evaluaciones SBAC en Matemáticas y Artes del Lenguaje Inglés pronto. Los estudiantes de quinto grado también tomarán el examen de ciencias SBAC y lo tomarán la semana del 22 de abril. Pedimos que los padres ayuden a sus estudiantes a hacer lo mejor que puedan limitando las interrupciones en los exámenes tanto como sea posible. Esto incluye sacar a los estudiantes de la escuela para asistir a citas y ausentarse de la escuela. What’s Up Bullpup? Issue 20 Week of: April 22nd – April 26th Upcoming Events: *April 23rd April Awards Assembly (3-5 1:45-2:15, K-2 2:30-3:00) *April 24th 3rd Grade Field Trip to Lake Lowell *April 25th 5th Grade Owhyee Field Day *April 30th Kindergarten Graduation Pictures News:  Thank you to everyone involved for making our first ever Spring Concert a huge success. Mrs. VanCorbach you put together an amazing performance and the students sang beautifully! Parents thank you for coming and celebrating the hard work your student put in learning the songs and motions they were taught. We appreciated seeing all the excitement and pride our students had seeing you in the audience. We look forward to the next musical performance next year!  Attendance is very important every day of the school year; but even more so now through the end of the year. To encourage great attendance from now through the rest of the year, we are going to be doing our Bullpup Store differently this year. We will draw 12 names (2 from each grade level) each day to go “Shopping” in the store. The students must be at school (and not late) to be able to shop. Some of the prizes in the store are: art kits, science kits, basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, scooters, skateboards, koosh paddles, telescopes, and much more. We will also be doing a book giveaway closer to the end of the year so students have books for the summer!  If parents have a teacher request for the 2024-2025 school year those requests are due to Ms. Book or Mr. Pratt by May 30, 2024. Please include why this teacher fits best with your student in your request. All requests will be accepted and we will do our best to honor them but there are no guarantees that we can fulfill the request made. No requests will be accepted after May 30th. Thank you, Mr. Pratt (spratt@nyssasd.org) and Ms. Book (tbook@nyssasd.org)  State Testing is here. 3rd - 5th Graders will start taking their SBAC Assessments in Math and English Language Arts. 5th Graders will also be doing the SBAC Science test and will be taking it the week of April 22nd. We ask that parents help their students do the best they can by limiting the interruptions in testing as much as possible. This includes pulling students out of school for appointments and students being absent from school. Studies show students test higher when they are testing with their class and not individually.  The Character Trait for April is COOPERATION! o COOPERATION is working together to reach shared goals.  As a family, talk about how this definition applies to how you work together at home. Our Principal for the Day is Noel (Kinder -- DaPron's Class) and will be doing Mr. Pratt's job for the day and then will eat lunch with Mr. Pratt. He won this prize from the PTO fundraiser. Elementary -- 5th Grade Parents Only 5th Grade Parents - Students will have a trip meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, April 3 at school. This will be our last meeting before the trip. We will go over: the packing list, the schedule, and other important pieces of information. Students in K-5 who qualify as English Language Learners will be taking the ELPA-21 assessment. Students in grades 3-5 will also be taking the SBAC assessments in Math and English Language Arts. 5th Graders will also be doing the SBAC Science test. We ask that parents help their students do the best they can by limiting the interruptions in testing as much as possible. Be looking for more information from each child’s teacher later in March.  There are still 25 yearbooks to purchase. They are $22.00 and available on a first come first served basis. The Yearbooks can be purchased during parent teacher conferences if you did not get yours during the pre-order period. Once they are sold out we are not going to be able to get more!  Parents, Students should not be dropped off in the morning before 7:45 am. There are no adults to monitor students before 7:45 am so please do not drop your student(s) off early. Bower Ave: drop off is along the fence on the school side of Bower Ave. If you want to walk your child across Bower Ave. to the drop off area then you may park on the other side. Please DO NOT park in the parking lot behind McHall waiting to drop your students off. These parking spots are for staff and need to be available for them to get to work. If you are dropping your student off on Front of Building: drop off is against the curb only. DO NOT drive down one of the center lanes and let your students off. This is for their safety. Also if you are going to park in a parking spot please walk your student to the McHall door for breakfast. During pickup times please do not block the traffic by parking on the curb, please park in the parking lot.
