Dear Nyssa School District Employees and School Board Members,
As you are aware, K-12 schools in Oregon have not been able to provide in-person instruction since mid-March due to COVID-19. As the 2019-2020 school year is coming to an end, the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is in the process of developing statewide guidance for K-12 schools for the 2020-2021 school year.
ODE has created a "School Year 2020-21 Input" survey to gather input from stakeholders as a plan is developed for Oregon schools. The survey is brief and asks individuals to share their ideas, concerns, and questions about the 2020-21 school year. I encourage Nyssa School District staff, parents, and community members to provide feedback through this survey by selecting the link above. Here are some ideas to consider as you compose a response:
- What has gone well during Distance Learning for All?
- What challenges have been faced during Distance Learning for All?
- What considerations should be made by ODE as statewide guidance for Oregon K-12 schools is developed relating to resuming in-person instruction?
Please note that this survey is open to all and is not restricted to Nyssa School District patrons. Survey responses are reported directly to ODE.
All the best,
Darren S. Johnson, Ph.D.
