Parents and Caregivers,
We hope that this school year will be one of learning and fun for your child(ren). As you make your preparation for all that school will entail this year, we wanted to let you know about our Nyssa Elementary Parent Teacher Organization and all that we do to provide opportunities for all the students of NES. This list is not limited to, but a basic overview of needs and extras we help at the school.
● $1,000 per grade level each year to spend towards educational supplies, classroom needs, incentives etc.
● $2,000 towards the 5 th grade field trip to the coast/capital.
● Half the cost of all field trips which lowers the cost for students so more can attend.
● Santa bags for all students that are given to them from Santa which include Books, bookmaker, gloves, pencil & stamp OR earbuds, & fruit.
● Christmas crafts for all students to make and give to parents as a Christmas gift.
● Provide a meal for teachers for Fall and Spring conferences and during teacher appreciation week
● A useful or necessary gift for teachers during teacher appreciation. (i.e., pencil sharpeners, computer speakers, sweeper)
● Donate to the Spelling Bee
● Purchase or help purchase school equipment such as:
o Bottle filling stations
o Handicap swing for special needs
o Playground equipment
● Per request of teachers at school paying for specific requests during school year. (Such as cookies for Dr. Seuss week, etc.)
While we are thrilled to be able to help in unique and important ways, we are not able to do so without the help of Parent and Teacher Volunteers. We want to extend a personal invitation to you to come to our parent meetings and learn how you can help. We know that as parents and caregivers we have an important role to play in the education of our children. This is one way we can help strengthen our school and ultimately the children who attend here.
