Nyssa Elementary Student is County’s Top Speller!

Nyssa Elementary 5th grader Cadi Corn bested all comers from 1st – 8th grades and emerged as the top speller in Malheur County at the Second Annual Malheur County Spelling Bee, held March 8th at Nyssa Elementary School.  With the victory, Corn is eligible to represent Malheur County at the 91st Scripps National Spelling Bee on May 29th in Washington, D.C.  The official results by grade level and top three finishers are listed below.

First Grade:

  1. Alicia Shurtleff, Alameda

  3. Jordan Bates, Vale

Second Grade:

  1. Brodin Bundy, May Roberts
  2. Emiliano Barrera, Four Rivers
  3. Victoria Nau, St. Peter Catholic

Fourth Grade:
